Last month I began releasing my first audio recordings of me reading the New Testament. I started in modest fashion with some of the shortest chapters in the Bible. Today I am sharing my second set of readings, this time with nine more chapters available for download.
These include all of the New Testament books that are three chapters in length,
- 2 Thessalonians
- Titus
- 2 Peter
These come out to 23 minutes and 1 second of audio and contain some great teachings in each book. The first chapter of 2 Thessalonians presents the apostle Paul’s strong warning for those who do not know God, and do not obey the Gospel. Titus chapter 2 has the great instructions on the expectations for older and younger men and women. Finally, 2 Peter includes similar teachings to those that are found in the letter of Jude, but also comments on growing in godliness and love. All of these are important to heed and worthy of acceptance.
As in my prior recordings, I announce the name of each book prior to reading them. However, one difference about my readings than most others is that I don’t actually say the chapter number that a listener is on. This is intentional. Although chapter divisions are a helpful aid, most earlier copies of the Scriptures do not contain them. They were devised at a later date. I prefer to allow chapters to flow from one another without interruption. As such, these books only say what you are listening to at the beginning of each. There are no explicit statements for chapters two or three. I intend to continue this practice with follow-up releases as well.
The next audio recordings will be of the four-chapter books, such as Philippians and Colossians.
