Multiple microphones are lined up for a performance. The nearest one is in focus, while the others are more blurry. They seem to be set up for a row of singers.

Audio Recordings of 1 Thessalonians From the World English Bible (WEB)

About a week and a half ago I released another dozen recordings of my readings from the New Testament. As we approach the end of 2020, I have one more book to share. That being 1 Thessalonians, which is five chapters in length.

It’s a pretty quick read, with my completed files coming in at just over 11 minutes in length. When I think about the book, I’m reminded of it being one of the apostle Paul’s first writings that we have preserved, and its repeated references to the return of Christ. As I read and listened to it multiple times in preparation for this post, there was another matter that stood out for me.

That being just how important it was for Paul to hear about his brethren. It really comes to the forefront in chapter three, and was something that I appreciated. I especially liked how the phrase, “But Timothy has just now come to us from you,” was rendered in the World English Bible too. I hope what he writes there, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, encourages you just like how it did for me. I’ve uploaded my reading of that chapter as the sample for the book.

My next update for this series will be for the book of James, which just so happens to be one of my favorites!
