There are many famous letters in the New Testament. Some are rather short and addressed to a small group of people. Others are written to those in a province or city. Among these, Paul’s epistle to the Romans is among the most well known. Even non-Christians know some of its teachings, such as all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, and we know that all things work together for good to them who love God.
All of these truths are incredibly important for the Christian faith. They help us to be humble, keep our eyes on the goal of being with God forever, and make sense of difficult circumstances. Over the course of 16 chapters, Romans speaks of these concepts, and many others. It is the apostle Paul’s most famous letter and has had an impact on an incredible number of people through the ages. If you would like to hear my reading of the book, it can be found linked below.
Two sample chapters are also available. I picked chapter 8 because of its length and extremely encouraging ending. I uploaded the sample of chapter 11 because of its influence on me as I developed the habit of reading the Bible regularly. Years ago I was listening to a popular preacher present some expository lessons on the book over the course of many weeks. Eventually I realized that what he was teaching was different from what the apostle Paul was writing. It helped me realize the importance of following the Scriptures even when some try to make it say something else. It is one of many reasons why I encourage people to read the Bible for themselves.
At this point, I’d like to say that the next book I intend to work on is Acts. However, I unfortunately need to go back through some of my prior recordings and clean them up. There are a number of them that have too many pops and other audio issues that I didn’t hear prior to me uploading them originally. I am going to focus on those for the time being.
When I get done with them, I will make a new post encouraging those interested to download the files again. In the meantime, I hope you have a great rest of the day! I expect to post again sometime in 2023.
